NeuRIL Network
The Neuroscience Research Institute Leaders Network
Connecting executive leaders
of academic research centers
Who We Are
We are the senior administrative executives and operational strategists directing academic neuroscience institutes across the United States. We manage complex institutional operations—including strategic planning, faculty development, major funding portfolios, and the technical resources that allow cutting-edge science to flourish. Reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of our field, our members bring diverse expertise from scientific as well as non-academic leadership backgrounds.Bound by a shared commitment to operational excellence, strategic innovation, and open collaboration, we are dedicated to unlocking the potential of brain science.
Our Purpose
We believe that interdisciplinary research institutes are the driving engines of scientific discovery. Navigating today's intricate research ecosystem requires strong strategic and operational leadership. The NeuRIL Network connects, supports, and develops the executive leaders of these institutes.By fostering a collaborative peer network, NeuRIL empowers leaders to:Drive Operational Excellence: Share strategic insights and leadership practices that cultivate stronger, more adaptable research infrastructures.Expand Collective Reach: Leverage a national platform to accelerate the exchange of funding opportunities, major announcements, and career pathways.Navigate the Research Landscape: Stay ahead of national trends and systemic challenges to more effectively steer research institutes.
Our Story
NeuRIL began in 2024 with a simple but powerful realization: while neuroscience institute leaders faced a unique set of shared opportunities and challenges, they lacked a dedicated space to navigate them together. To bridge this gap, founder Kelley Remole brought together a small group of visionary colleagues. What started as a handful of informal conversations quickly revealed a profound, widespread need for true peer-to-peer exchange. Our of those early meetings, we defined our mission to build a collaborative ecosystem where executives can openly share institutional strategies, support one another’s leadership growth, and build the operational foundations that accelerate brain science.Today, we continue to grow, driven by the belief that the future of neuroscience is accelerated when its leaders collaborate.
Our footprint
NeuRIL’s national reach spans the country's most prestigious research landscape, bridging elite academic departments, dedicated medical center hubs, and world-renowned, interdisciplinary brain science institutes.
